We’re proud to share it with you
Lake in the Dunes has its roots in the vision of Steve Scott, who purchased the property in 1982. Originally a quiet stretch of high desert in Oregon, the area was thoughtfully developed to create a series of artesian-fed lakes designed specifically for fly fishing and bird habitat. Over the years, it has become a hidden gem for those seeking solitude, natural beauty, world-class fishing and hunting in a private, peaceful setting.
Lake in the Dunes offers a wide range of outdoor experiences for every kind of adventurer. From world-class fly fishing in our private, artesian-fed lakes to waterfowl and upland bird hunting across the high desert landscape, there’s no shortage of action for sportsmen. Try your hand at clay shooting, explore the unique terrain on foot, or unwind with a peaceful afternoon of paddle boarding. It’s also the perfect spot for family vacations, with plenty to enjoy even for the non-outdoorsy type—whether it’s soaking in the scenery, watching wildlife, or simply relaxing in the quiet of the high desert.
Lake in the Dunes is perfectly situated in Oregon’s high desert—close enough to be considered Bend’s backyard, yet far enough away to feel like you’ve stepped into the outback. This hidden gem offers the best of both worlds: easy access for a quick weekend escape, and the kind of remote, wide-open solitude that makes you feel worlds away.
